Happy Monday! Yesterday was in the mid-60s and it was just so crazy. I was inside wrapping presents watching people walk by the front of my house in t-shirts. This past weekend was more relaxing than usual. I had my first massage, got a haircut, and slept in until 8:30. It was glorious. It’s especially nice knowing that this is the last full week before a 4-day holiday weekend. Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I can’t wait to spend time with family and eat delicious food.
I thought it might be fun to do a little running series of beauty reviews. For my first beauty review post, I want to focus on three products: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop, and Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. These are three products that I am really fond of. In future posts, I won’t always showcase just products I like, but I find that most of the things I buy I end up liking because I do quite a bit or research before I drop $25+ on a product. But I will definitely try to pick diverse products to review, both high-end and drugstore.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – This concealer is amazing. I’ve tried drug store options and they can’t even hold a light to this concealer. It’s thick, yes, but in a good way. I swear when you first apply it it practically erases your blemishes. I don’t use it under my eyes so I can’t really review it as far as an under eye concealer, but as a blemish concealer, it’s awesome. I also find that the second lightest option, Vanilla, is a great color match for me. It has enough of a pink undertone to blend in with my skin. I have already repurchased this once and will definitely do so again when I run out.
BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Perfector in Champagne Pop – B-e-a-utiful. This highlighter is definitely not subtle but I love it because of that. It takes the tiniest amount to really make your cheeks pop (you see what I did there?). I have pretty fair skin and think it looks awesome and as natural as an intense highlighter can. I apply a little to the tops of my cheeks, up my temple, across the bridge of my nose and in the inner corners of my eyes. Again, another thing that I would repurchase if I ever ran out (if they decide to keep it around permanently).
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes – I received a sample of this in one of my Sephora goodie bags and fell in love. It was the perfect lengthening mascara and made my lashes look awesome. I took advantage of Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty and purchased two tubes for the price of one. I am convinced that the full-size is a different formula than the samples because I don’t think it does the job as well as the sample. I do find that it is pretty lengthening but I do have to be more careful about clumps than I did with the sample. I would still definitely recommend it as a high-end mascara.
I use all three of these products on a daily basis and definitely think they live up to the hype. Though they are pretty pricey, I would choose them over any drugstore equivalents out there. If anyone finds any drugstore options that can get close or beat these ones, please let me know!
