Happy Hump Day!! I know I’ve said it before, but as much as I love makeup, I don’t like to wear too much on a regular basis. Aside from the occasional smoky eye, I like to sport a minimal, or “no makeup makeup” look on a regular basis. In my experience browsing blogs and YouTube, there are two different kinds of no makeup looks: 1. a true minimal makeup look with few products and 2. a no makeup makeup look that requires quite a few products but results in a look that doesn’t look like makeup. I’ve found that a combination of the two is the sweet spot. I like to minimize the number of products I use but like to still look put together.
For a “no makeup” makeup look, it’s important to create a flawless look without looking too done up. I like to even out my skin with a sheer base (unless I’m experiencing a rare good skin day) and then conceal where I need it (i.e. my dark circles and any blemishes). I add a little color back with blush and bronzer, which is the only way I look alive. Another really important step is filling my brows. I cannot believe the difference a little brow pencil can make. To keep with the “no makeup” look, I like to add a little brightness on the eyes and a natural color on the lips.
