I cannot believe it has already been three months since the autumn edition of my seasonal wish list but it is now time for my winter wish list. I know I sound like a broken record, but time really does fly by. When I wrote about the season in October, I mentioned it was warmer than I would like. We are now over halfway through January and I must say, the weather hasn’t been terrible. We’ve had a few super cold days here and there but we would also several days where it was in the 50s or even 60s. It’s been a bit of a tease since I am so desperate for spring but I’ve kind of been loving it. However, I’m still basking in sweater weather and with the current fascination with hygge, I fit right in with the masses.
I always make it through the winter by essentially hibernating with little adventures here and there to get some sunshine on my face. So far this winter we’ve made a visit to Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus Architectural Salvage, and the Columbus Zoo. I’ve spent a lot of time curled up on the couch with a thick sweater or robe, warm blanket, and a record playing (currently I’m loving Emotionalism by The Avett Brothers), definitely my winter wish list essentials.
Another winter wishlist necessity: alcohol. Unfortunately I don’t get to imbibe as much as I would like (because after working all day, one glass will put me right to sleep) but when I do, I love a good glass of red wine or a gin cocktail. Another thing I do at the end of a long, wintery day, is smother my face in a thick, moisturizing cream. Glossier recently came out with a new product that the beauty world has been obsessed with and I wouldn’t hate giving it a try.
