Valentine’s Day isn’t a holiday that I really worry too much about but I love a good excuse to make cute gifts. There are plenty of options to give your loved one a gift without spending too much money while still gifting something meaningful. Here are some cute ideas I found online that would be great gifts to give this Friday (come on, you still have time).1. 12 Months of Pre-Planned Date Nights, This is a great gift that allows you and your SO to spend more time together making memories, which is worth way more than any bouquet of flowers of box of chocolates.
I first attempted this DIY project while coming up with an idea for a Christmas gift for my future mother-in-law. I decided I wanted to gift her something home decor related but I wasn’t sure what style. I stumbled across a similar DIY project on Pinterest and loved that it adds a personal touch to a home decor item. I purchased the cutting boards on Amazon and picked up the chalkboard paint at Michaels (utilized that 40% off coupon). While the chalkboard paint was drying, I browsed message designs on Pinterest and asked my boyfriend (nicely) to use his artistic skills to write the message. It turned out great! When I first got engaged, I found it difficult to remember to put my ring back on after taking it off. I came across a few different DIYs on Pinterest on how to make a ring holder out of a frame and decided to give it a try. Here’s my attempt: Continue reading “Engagement Ring Holder DIY”
My fiancee and I moved this past weekend into a much larger apartment. We were very excited about two two beautiful fireplaces that are in the downstairs rooms. I grew up with a fireplace and always loved how a mantel provides a decorating opportunity. It’s a little overwhelming trying to decide which items should go on the mantel and how they should be arranged but for now I thought I would keep it simple. Here are some tips I found on how to decorate a mantel:
After receiving succulents as a wedding favor, I knew I wanted to test my green thumb and create a DIY terrarium. After a stop at Lowe’s to pick up cactus soil and pebbles, I pulled out some old Mason Jars and got to work. We were not able to scrape up some moss outside so that’s still on the list to add to the top of the soil in our terrariums. I placed the two jars in the living room where I expect them to receive plenty of sunshine during the day. I plan on watering them occasionally and hopefully this is one plant I will not kill!
