Caroline Crossbody Clutch // Review

I wasn’t looking for a new bag but the perfect small crossbody found me. Vernacular is one of my favorite stores in Columbus and when my friend Dana asked if I wanted to go last weekend, I couldn’t say no. I’m always most interested in the home decor but have found some great clothing and accessories over the years. Dana pointed out the Caroline Crossbody Clutch to me and my first thought was, “no, I don’t need this”. But then I unzipped it.

I love my Madewell Transport Tote. I’ve had it for years and rarely switch it out. I did pick up a small Madewell bag to take with me to events where I needed to carry some belongings on me but wanted to make it easy and light. The strap on it is too short and it hardly holds anything. It’s definitely a special event only bag. The Caroline Crossbody Clutch, however, is so much more than just a clutch.

First of all, it comes with a crossbody strap and a wristlet strap. I am sure I will use the wristlet strap occasionally, but the crossbody strap is perfect. It’s long enough that the bag sits where I want it to on my tall frame (right about at my hip). The strap is adjustable so I am sure it will work fine for anyone no matter your height.

Second, the inside is just perfect. There are two main compartments secured by a single zip. The center has six spots for your ID and credit cards and in the center is another zipped compartment. This is perfect for a passport or cash. The reason I keep giving for picking this bag up is that I plan on using it on our trip to Copenhagen this spring.

I haven’t even told you the best part yet. It’s only $40. Sure, it isn’t real leather and may not last me forever, but I don’t really care. I’ve seriously considered picking this up in other colors so I can make it last even longer (it comes in black, grey, tan, taupe, and saddle). I’ve been carrying it since I got it and even though it’s been a change not being able to shove anything and everything in it, I find that I don’t have shoulder pain anymore when I carry my purse. If you live in Columbus, I recommend you check out your closest Vernacular location and try out the Caroline Crossbody Clutch.
