For the past couple of years, I have had early access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale thanks to my one retail credit card, my Nordstrom card. I wouldn’t say I shop at Nordstrom frequently but I do like to treat myself every once in a while, especially during the annual Anniversary Sale. Just like last year, I provided my sale picks and let you know which items I purchased/planned to purchase. I am not one to go crazy but I did pick up a few items that I wanted to update you on.
In total, I picked up three tops from the sale. Two of which are my favorite items I purchased. The BP. Pocket Tee in ivory and stripes has me written all over it. The best part – the price. It’s under $20! I picked it up on the first day of the sale, thankfully, since it did sell it rather quickly in the striped pattern. I got it in a size smal and it fits me perfectly. It is just thin enough to work for layering without being see through and the length is a dream. I always have issues with shirts not being long enough (when I want them to be) or the sleeves being too short, and this shirt hits me perfectly. I am sure I will wear the crap out of it this autumn. I pair it with jeans and a cardigan (since I work in an air conditioned office) but I envision wearing it with boots and leggings come fall and cooler temperatures.
The BP. Lightweight Rib Stitch Cardigan is another favorite. I picked it up in a medium and I’m glad I didn’t do my typical small as I think it would have made it just a little too tight for me and maybe a touch too short. The length of the medium hit me right around the knee, which is right where I want it. It’s super cozy and versatile so of course it’s already sold out. I picked it up in grey because I just find that that is a color that works with most of my outfits. This is another that I plan on wearing with everything this fall.
The last top I purchased was the J.Crew Pardon My French Graphic Tee. I’ve mentioned several times that I love slogan tees and ever since I saw this one in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog, I knew I had to have it. I made sure to hop online and throw it into my cart as soon as the early access began. It’s nice and light and the medium fits me great. I think if I had gone with a small, this shirt would have been way too shrunken and wouldn’t have the casual and loose look that I prefer. Unfortunately, this is another item that has sold out.
I have been hoping to get a pair of boyfriend fit Citizens of Humanity jeans for quite some time and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale provided me with the perfect opportunity. The Emerson Slim Fit Boyfriend Jeans were almost exactly what I was looking for. For almost $80 off, I thought they were a great deal so I took a chance and added them to my cart even though I was unsure of the length. The inseam is only 27″ and I typically like to shoot for around 30″ at least since I have such long legs. When I finally got them in the mail, I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love them either. I just felt like they were too short for me. I could probably deal and make them work, but for how much money I spent, I just didn’t feel like they worked for me enough. I went ahead and returned them. The search for the perfect jeans continues!
My most recent purchase that I made as part of the sale is the Band of Gypsies Faux Wrap Maxi Dress. I kept going back and forth with this dress and had it in my cart for a while before finally pressing submit. Since I haven’t received this dress yet or had the chance to try it on, I don’t have any photos or opinions yet to share but I will update this post as soon as I get it. It could be really awesome as the reviews suggest or it could be a total dud. UPDATE: It’s cute. I can’t say I’m totally in love with it and I’m not sure it is the most flattering dress out there, but the faux wrap element is great. It buttons right around the bust so there’s no fear of it coming undone or exposing something unintentionally. I’m still on the fence about whether I’m going to keep it or not.
The last item I picked up during the sale may not be the most exciting, but I am still very pleased. I already own the Natori Feathers Underwire Contour Bra in nude but when I saw it was part of the sale, I went ahead and picked it up in white. I love that this bra is light enough for everyday yet looks prettier than your average t-shirt bra. I love how I can wear it with anything and you can’t tell it is there. It isn’t overly padded and is definitely the best fitting bra I own.
About the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale runs through August 6 so if you haven’t poked around yet, get on it before all the good stuff is gone! Nordstrom has such a great return policy that I always make the purchase even if I’m not sure because if I’m not impressed, I can always return it online or in store. Like I mentioned in my last post, I feel that the included items could work for summer or autumn and there are some really great things that are still available. If you follow any bloggers, I am sure you can find some really great suggestions to lead you in the right direction if you would rather not sift through all the pages of sale items. Happy shopping!
