It has been forever since I have done an OOTD (or outfit of the day). I originally envisioned this blog to be a fashion blog, but over the 3+ years I’ve been writing, it has definitely veered off from that path a bit. It’s not that I have fallen out of love with fashion, I have just found that I have more to share than that. I definitely buy fewer pieces of clothing than I used to, but I still love it. My interest in YouTube has led me to beauty blogs and buying a home has switched my priorities to making it my own by focusing on interiors and home decor.
I’m not super into jewelry. I have a couple necklaces that I wear occasionally and my wedding rings and that’s it. I love rings but my tiny fingers make it really hard to find ones that fit properly. When it comes to all jewelry, I like dainty and simple. I’ll almost always choose gold over silver and gravitate towards geometric, simple designs. This necklace from Madewell is a couple years old and was another gift from Chris. He knew I had been looking at it but didn’t want to make the jump. Aside from the necklace I received as a wedding gift, this is probably my most worn piece of jewelry. It goes with everything but be warned… it gets tangled CONSTANTLY.
Also, I know I’ve mentioned it before, but this shade of mustard yellow is my absolute favorite right now (see here). I only have this sweater, an old cardigan and a scarf, but I can’t get enough. I attribute it all to the armchair I inherited from my grandmother. I’ve had it in my possession ever since she passed and it has followed me to every apartment since moving in with Chris over four years ago. That may not seem like long, but there were three moves in there. I don’t know if this shade of yellow suits someone with pale skin and brown hair, but I really just don’t care. It makes me happy and brings a little color to my otherwise muted wardrobe.
I got these shoes a couple years ago from Chris as a birthday gift. I searched high and low for the perfect pair of Chelsea boots and settled on these from Frye. They definitely weren’t the cheapest and were the most expensive pair of shoes I owned. Being short and made of a dark leather, I feel like they go with any outfit and during the fall and winter months, I wear the crap out of them. Thankfully, Chris has given them a couple tune-ups so they looks almost as good as the day I got them.
