Spring Clothing Haul

Spring Clothing Haul Fashion Haul

I was a bit naughty. I haven’t made a clothing purchase like this since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’m trying to accept my post-baby body as it is, mostly the same, but different in ways I prefer it not to be. Thinking about spring and summer clothing is a bit discouraging, but I think a little spring closet refresh is what I need.

The bulk of these items are from Madewell because I just love everything in that store. We had our family portraits scheduled and I did a bit of a panic-purchase to make sure I had something to wear that made me feel good. Fortunately, I did utilize the 30% off sale they had recently so that made me feel like I was at least being smart about my purchases.

The Slim Wide Leg Jeans were a bit of a wild card. I loved them the moment I saw them and made sure to order talls so the length was a bit more right on my long legs. They have a 70s vibe that I just love. These are nice and high-waisted so I see myself wearing these with looser tops partially tucked in, like the Central Shirt in Dalton Stripe I also picked up. It’s a classic shape and pattern, so I’m sure I can get a lot of wear out of it.

My second Madewell purchase was for the Cami Tiere Midi Dress. I just cannot stop buying this color. I thought this dress would be great for my family portraits but also as a summer dress that I can wear when I don’t feel like wearing anything too tight. I paired it with the Bronson Cardigan for our pictures, since, you know, Ohio is cold.

My last few items are from Nordstrom and were 100% inspired by Caroline Joy (is it inspiration when you buy the whole outfit). I have always loved paper-bag-style bottoms and thought these would be great for summer. Again, they are high-waisted but provide some coverage to the midriff, which I’m really feeling lately. The Topshop Boxy Roll Tee is pretty basic, but modern with its slightly cropped style. Finally, I wanted some shoes that I can wear to weddings this summer, and as Toms are some of the most comfortable shoes I own, I grabbed these.

A couple other little things I picked up recently are this beautiful little necklace from Made by Mary and this smock top from Gap. The necklace was pretty hard to resist. I cannot get enough of things that remind me of Isla and the necklace has a marigold etched on it to represent the month of October (a pretty special one as Chris, Isla, and I were all born in October). And the top, I mean, it’s yellow. Do I need to say more?
