Reading has always been one of my favorite things. As a kid, my parents used to have to check on me after I had gone to bed to make sure I was in fact sleeping rather than reading. I would usually have to out yo my reading light and hide my book so they wouldn’t know. A lot of my favorite books happen to be ones I read when I was younger but I’m always looking out for new ones to read so if you have any suggestions, comment away!
1. Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card
This book really caught me off guard when I first read it in 8th grade. I ended up really loving it and even read three more of the books in the series.
2. Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
I’ve read all the books in the series more than I care to admit. There’s something completely magical and I find new things every time I read them.
3. Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
I wasn’t so sure about this but have really come to love this series. I find it entertaining and less emotional for me, which is a nice break from the other books I read that involve me way too much emotionally.
4. The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls
I first read this book my sophomore year of high school while driving to Massachusetts for a family vacation. It was one of the more adult books I had read up to that point but I found it very interesting though it’s definitely pretty serious.
5. The Shack by William P. Young
Though definitely more religious-based than I tend to gravitate towards, this book had me in tears throughout and really changed my perspective on a relationship with Jesus.
6. Atonement by Ian McEwan
A shorter length than I’m used to but I really enjoy this book. Maybe it’s the hopeless romantic in me or the World War II time period.
