This weekend was a good one. It absolutely flew by but it was full of things that made me happy. There were so many things going on, and it all just made me fall even more in love with the city of Columbus. The best part? The sun was shining! Hopefully some of you were able to enjoy a Columbus weekend as well.Friday night we spent the evening at my parents visiting with my uncle, eating delicious food, and watching the Columbus Blue Jackets game. When we came home, we stayed up way too late looking at old memorabilia that my mother-in-law sent Chris home with, including this hilarious newspaper clipping.
Saturday we slept in and it was glorious. Our cat insists on waking us up at 6AM but thankfully we are both always able to fall back asleep. When I finally drug myself out of bed, we headed out to my sister’s to photograph my new nephew (post to come). He truly is the cutest baby I’ve ever seen and I’m so glad I got to spend the day with him. When we headed home after hours of photo taking, Chris napped while I imported and processed the photos.
To end the weekend, we truly had a Sunday Funday. We were still able to sleep in, which was much needed. We got ourselves together and headed out to Franklinton for Columbus Winter Flea. I had never been to a Columbus Flea at Strongwater and it was hopping! There were so many amazing vendors including Homage, Groovy Plants Ranch, Ruhling Woven, and One Six Five. If I had more money and/or less self control, I would have come home with a lot more than I did. I couldn’t resist one of the cute Flea Your Mind tees, a couple prints from And Here We Are, and a dainty rose gold ring from Hannah Hoffman.
After leaving the crowds in Strongwater, we headed to the Short North and had lunch and shopped. We stopped at a couple of our favorite shops – Grandview Mercantile, Tigertree, and Artisan Deluxe – then got lunch at Hot Chicken Takeover in the North Market. It was absolutely delicious and I could eat it everyday for lunch and be happy. We made a pitstop at Cub Shrub (cutest kids store ever) and then headed home to lounge.
