For our honeymoon, Chris and I headed to the Sandals Regency La Toc resort in St. Lucia. We spent 7 days on the beach and it was the perfect way to spend the week after your wedding. After the stress of planning a wedding, I wanted nothing more than to sit my butt on a chair on the beach and soak up the sunshine. Castries was beautiful and hot and it only ever rained for a couple minutes so our outdoor time was hardly ever interrupted. Chris and I did make a “no cell” rule so my iPhone pictures are limited. We did purchase a waterproof point and shoot, which served as our main camera. It was a great investment and allowed us to spend a little less time staring at our phones and more time with each other.

On Sunday morning, we woke up at the Hilton at Easton at 4:30 in the morning. To say it was rough is an understatement. We rolled out of bed, made sure we had all of our belongings and took a cab to the airport. Fortunately, our 12 hour day of travel wasn’t so bad and we were so grateful when we finally made it the resort (travel advice: eat at the airport rather than waiting until you arrive).Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 11.50.09 AM

We spent our first full day in the pool and lying out by the beach. It was such a beautiful day and I was so happy to be near a beach for the first time in almost 5 years. It was nice to get clean up a bit for a nice romantic dinner at Neptune’s

We were surprised how early the sun sets in St. Lucia. The sun started going down around 6, which is much earlier than the typical 9PM sunset in Ohio this time of year. However, the sunsets were beautiful

Whenever I end up somewhere with palm trees I know I’m going to be happy. Whether you’re in Sarasota, Florida or St. Lucia, the beaches are all beautiful and brings me a sense of relaxationScreen Shot 2014-06-17 at 11.50.48 AM

Stumbled across your blog via Pinterest! My husband and I are going to La Toc in January to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We’re also from Ohio! 🙂 Wondering if you have any specific suggestions for restaurants or activities to check out at La Toc. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Congratulations on your marriage!

    1. Thank you and congratulations on your anniversary! My husband and I really enjoyed the La Toc.
As far as food, I will say that the portions at the restaurants are much smaller than American restaurants but I always felt that I got plenty of food. Our favorite restaurants for dinner were Neptune’s (Mediterranean) and Kimono’s (Japanese). At Kimono’s you get a lot of food and it was all delicious. We also tried the Bella Napoli for lunch (not impressive), Armando’s for dinner(Italian, pretty good), and the Cricketer’s for dinner (pub food, not bad). We ate breakfast and lunch almost everyday at the Pavillion and absolutely loved it. Those were probably some of our favorite meals. we never made it out to the Pitons or the La Toc (requires a reservation, which you usually need to make like 2 days in advance). As for activities, there are tons of excursions to choose from. We loved SNUBAing and the horseback riding was fun. A super popular excursion that we didn’t take (more expensive) was the Joe Knows tours, which took you to the Piton’s and a natural spring. There are water sports at the resort that are included though the water was pretty rough while we were there so we didn’t have many opportunities to snorkel.
Now that I’ve practically written a book, I suggest either before you leave for St. Lucia or right when you arrive to plan the week out. Make all your reservations and pick your excursions right away so you don’t need to worry about it and can relax while you’re there. Though I don’t think January will be nearly as busy, I suggest laying your towels on your chairs before you eat breakfast because they go fast!
I hope your trip is fantastic and that you enjoy La Toc!
