I’ve definitely fallen out of love with makeup a bit. I don’t know if it’s because I wear less than I used to or because I give myself less time to get ready in the mornings, but I find that I don’t buy as much makeup. I still watch quite a few beauty bloggers but I let my YouTube subscription box build up quite a bit because I watch fewer beauty videos. I was not immune, though, to the arrival of Glossier. Most of the YouTubers I watch live in the UK so Glossier hasn’t really been given a lot of attention in their videos but I still heard a lot about this American brand. I finally picked up a few products and decided to do a Glossier Product Review.

I’m still riding the high of the great weather we had this past weekend and week. I feel like a whole new person when the sun is out longer and the temperature is above 65. I feel like I’m truly awake. Spring isn’t my favorite season but I’m always so happy to see it when it arrives. Usually around this time I’m ready to skip ahead to summer but this year I have a trip planned for May, which is helping me slow down and enjoy the spring months. My spring wish list is screaming summer, though, and I just can’t help it. Continue reading “Spring Wish List // Current Picks”
With the exception of my early childhood, I’ve always considered myself a tidy person. I’ve always enjoyed cleaning and organizing my room. I spent a lot of my time perusing Real Simple Magazine and watching HGTV shows where people go through all of their stuff and organize with fancy systems you could buy from The Container Store. One thing I have struggled with in the past, is controlling how much stuff I have. I can remember being a kid and having a TON of toys. After reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying, I know I’m not alone. Continue reading “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying // A Review”
What a beautiful weekend we had. As far as weekends go, this one was pretty damn near perfect. Chris was back from Seattle and the weather was amazing. We started Saturday morning with breakfast with friends at Starliner Diner and then Chris and I had a fun photo session at Homestead Park. When Chris and I were in the early stages of dating, we used to have photo dates at nearby parks all the time armed with our point-and-shoot cameras. We’ve come a long way since then. The weather Saturday ended up being pretty nice and we did some shopping at Easton before drinks and apps at World of Beer. I’m usually quite the homebody and I truly believe I am an old soul deep down inside, but I tried to get out of my comfort zone by picking up a pair of overalls (what decade is it again) and getting drinks with the post-dinner crowd. I broke out my overalls & stripes on Sunday for a family dinner and really dug the look. Continue reading “Overalls & Stripes // OOTD”
Have I mentioned that I’m really into plants? I can’t get enough. I’ve been killing fewer and learning how to better care for different plants and slowly I’ve been keeping more alive (win!). I started my plant journey with succulents and even though I have to admit I’ve killed some, I’ve managed to keep many alive for an extended period of time, which makes them good in my book. I don’t remember when I first heard of Planthropy, but my friend Dana and I were finally able to pick a workshop and get tickets to the Bodacious & Bright! Succulent Workshop at Growl! in Clintonville.

Another Monday is upon us and another month is over. I don’t think I’ll ever stop exclaiming my surprise that another month has flown by. I’m hoping April brings warmer weather because I am starting to feel a bit stir crazy. When I can come home from work and plop myself in the hammock in the backyard, I’ll be a happy gal. I recently flipped (digitally, of course) through the Target Spring Home Style Catalog and loved everything in it. I’m not always impressed with Target’s quality, but sometimes, they really surprise me. I’ve decided to throw some of my favorites together (not all because literally I would just be posting the whole catalog) and I’m noticing a trend: neutrals.

Wednesdays are always hard. The middle-of-the-week slowdown is in full swing and I’m dying for the weekend. Too often, I get caught in the monotony of a work week and my Monday-Friday go by without any shakeups. Thankfully, this week, I spent an evening with my lovely sister and nephew and then another at a Columbus Blue Jackets game with my dad. As much as I sometimes want to go home from work and crash on the couch until bed, it’s good for the soul to mix things up and spend time with someone you love. I try to not wish my work days away and doing something fun after work helps me enjoy the work week. In a not so subtle transition, I had Chris take a couple snapshots of a business casual look and almost didn’t post them. The last picture of Max really saves it for me.

I take my skincare very seriously. After struggling with my skin for a couple years, I’ve been trying to invest in skincare that will help me have clearer skin. Doing my morning and evening skincare has become something that I look forward everyday and I occasionally mix things up with an exfoliator but for the most part, I stick to the same products. I definitely don’t own as much skincare as some, but my AM skincare routine contains six products.

If I had to pick my top five favorite places in Columbus, Franklin Park Conservatory would be be included. For years I’ve visited to get my plant fix, especially during the winter months. When it’s cold and grey outside, it invigorates the soul to be among living plants and feeling warmth on your skin. Chris and I were gifted a membership by my sister and brother-in-law and we have gone a few times this winter when we starting to struggle through the dark and cold days.

I had grand plans for this past weekend and they just didn’t really happen. The weather was cold, which was really disappointing compared to the unseasonably warm temperatures we’ve experienced so far in Ohio. I wasn’t as productive as I had wanted to be but I did get to relax and spend time with family/Micah so all was well. I struggled to brainstorm blog ideas so here are some of my favorites so far in March.
