Sunday, October 6 is the last day to enter the Madewell #Wildlysimple contest. All you have to do to enter is Instagram a photo of your 5+ fall essentials with the hashtag #wildlysimple. For my entry, I included my favorite pair of Steve Madden riding boots (similar), my latest Madewell sweater purchase, an American Eagle infinity scarf (similar), my Lucky Brand leather messenger bag (similar), Repertoire After School Special coffee, Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Cupcake candle and my Fujifilm Instax camera. The winner of the contest wins a $500 Madewell shopping spree so fingers crossed! Continue reading “Fall Essentials – Madewell Contest”
October is finally here! It’s one of my all-time favorite months (not to mention my birthday month) and ideal sweater weather. I used to go to the mall and buy cheap clothes that I didn’t really need because they were a good deal. I’ve now come to the conclusion that there are certain pieces that are worth splurging on and those that it’s ok to save some cash when purchasing. When it comes to sweaters, I would rather splurge on quality. From October-May I wear sweaters so I want them to last. My most recent trip to the mall resulted in the purchase of these two sweaters (as well as two pumpkin scented candles from Bath & Body Works) from Madewell. They set me back about $120 but it was so worth it.
I’ve been itching for a pair of duck boots for a few years now and just never really got around to buying myself some. Winters in Columbus can get pretty brutal. I finally decided this fall I would buy a pair, likely from L.L. Bean. I was in New York earlier this month for a wedding and we were near an outlet mall so we stopped by to do some shopping. I entered G. H. Bass & Co with no intentions of buying anything (because, let’s face it, I already dropped too much at the J Crew Factory store) but couldn’t resist the duck boots for 60% off. They weren’t the navy/brown colorway that I had my heart set on but over time the olive green has really grown on me. I also really love the shape, sole, and lining inside the boot. Now I just have to wait for the weather to cool down more and/or the rain to come.
Tomorrow OSU plays Wisconsin at home and I expect it to be a really great game. We are currently 4-0 and I hope to cheer the Buckeyes on to their fifth victory of the season. The game is in the evening which will make for a much more exciting and cooler atmosphere. I will not be attending the game but still plan on catching most of the game so I will be decked out in my game day gear. My shirt is from Homage, a Columbus-based t-shirt retailer who specializes in the design of vintage tees. My grey Toms, which have seen better days, are the perfect shade of grey to coordinate with my scarlet tee. I have included a white thermal under my shirt because, fingers crossed, I’m hoping for a bit of a chill during the evening. Continue reading “Favorite Game Day Wear”
The temperature is dropping in the capital city and the leaves are turning colors. Fall has officially arrived and I am inspired to wear bold colors such as the emerald green found in the below J Crew plaid button-up, the burgundy of the Limited jeggings, and the reddish brown in the Madewell tote. I’ve been in need of a new pair of glasses for quite some time and am loving this pair from Warby Parker. I was introduced to PF Flyers through the company I work for and recently have found them more appealing than Converse sneakers, plus they can go with any outfit. My September wish list is below:
